About The Emotional Support Dog Certification
There are thousands of people throughout the country that rely on the guidance of emotional support animals, ESA, on a daily basis. These animals are incredibly wise and can calm your nerves and ease the symptoms associated with your mental disabilities. Of course, society is not perfect and those that have an ESA will often be pestered and harassed whenever they go out in public. This is truly a shame and it may make you feel hopeless. Thankfully, you’ve come to the right place. We can help you overcome this obstacle, by providing you with access to an emotional support dog certification. With this documentation, you’ll be able travel wherever you desire whenever you desire, without being bothered by others.
What Is It?
First and foremost, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the basics regarding this certification. The certification is simply a document, which contains details regarding your dog and confirms his or her status as an official ESA. The official certification will include all of the necessary details and will also be stamped with the official seal. Upon acquiring this document, your dog will also be added into our database of emotional support animals. The combination can help to end disputes, while also easing the concerns of the public, whenever you travel about with your pooch.
Since there are many perks associated with ESAs, many people will attempt to manipulate the system, in order to acquire the certification. This is why we’re required to put a few qualification restrictions in place to prevent nefarious behavior from devious individuals. The ADA law is broadly written and doesn’t set too many limitations. However, there are some requirements associated with traveling with an ESA. If you intend to use the documentation to travel, you will need a letter from your therapist. This letter will confirm your disability and the precise reason you need access to the ESA. Below, you’ll find a partial list of disabilities, which will make you eligible for the certification.
- Intense stress
- Various phobias
Again, this is a partial list. By consulting with your primary therapist, you’ll be able to inquire about the need for the animal. If he or she feels you could benefit from an ESA, they’ll provide you with the document and you’ll be able to use it to get your dog certified.
Many people have formed the misconception that an animal must proceed through intense and rigorous training, before they’ll be allowed to gain this certification. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Emotional support dogs are substantially different from service dogs. Service dogs will generally need training, since they’ll be required to carry out an array of tasks to aid their owner. With emotional support animals, no training is required.
The dog is simply there to calm your nerves and provide you with emotional support. Their presence alone is enough to calm their owner and no additional training is necessary. At the same time, an emotional support animal can be any type of animal. Although the most common are dogs and cats, any animal can meet the requirements and become certified.
Printable Electronic Certificate
Registering your ESA has never been easier than now. Once you fill out and submit the application, along with your animal’s photo, your order will begin processing. Once this process is complete we will begin authorizing your animal’s qualifications. Of course, there is no need for any type of training certification, vaccination record, or any other legal document needed for this process.
You will receive a printable electronic ESA certification and all other documents and gear will be shipped. It may take anywhere from 7-10 business days for you to receive your shipment, but you can print your electronic ESA certification for verification purposes in the meantime.
Unlike other type of certifications, you will never have to register again. This is a lifetime registration and valid in up to 50 U.S. states. A one-time fee charged for this service and covers the paper certification and other items included in the kit. Please note that we have several different registration kits available, so be sure to view them carefully before purchase.
While, there are no requirements for your animal to qualify as a service animal, you do have some responsibilities to your pet. It is important to prepare your animal for the external stressors such as loud noises, congested facilities, and the occasional introduction. If the animal does not have a mild temperament or the ability to adapt to stressful situations, then he/she will not make a good ESA.
Check Your Status
If you’ve completed the application form and want to check its status, you’ll want to head over to our search page. From here, you’ll be able to enter a few minor details and search through our database for your animal. Once the search inquiry has been completed, you’ll find your application’s status, as well as your dog’s database listing. Once you’ve acquired the emotional support dog certification and have paid the initial fee, you’ll never be required to pay another fee in the future.
